Physiotherapy
Specialized physiotherapy at ACHA is designed to promote health and wellbeing with specific focus on the unique needs of aging adults. The first step is using tailored, 1 to 1 assessments for:
- Pain management
- Falls prevention
- Balance
- Mobility and gait changes
- Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
- Concussion management
- Recovery following prolonged hospital stay
- Pre-habilitation for upcoming surgery
- Post-operative rehab
- Strength loss (and/or the prevention of)
- Bone mineral density changes/osteoporosis
- Risk factors of independence loss.
The results of each assessment, and prognosis for recovery, will be shared with our patients. Focused treatments may include various types of rehab such as:
- Strength and balance training
- Cardiovascular and aerobic training
- Pain relief modalities
- Acupuncture/dry needling
- Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)
- Electro-therapeutic modalities
- Supportive taping
- Joint manipulations and mobilizations
- Soft tissue release
- Home exercise programs
- Independent management strategies
